NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY

Information for 2008-2009 School Year

3 year-old Preschool
(2 mornings or afternoons per week)

Note:
  • The above tuition covers materials and books, which will be supplied by the school.
  • Parents can receive a 3% discount by paying the year's tuition in full by July 20.
  • Otherwise, parents can make 10 monthly payments through the FACTS Tuition Service
  • Field trips and other educational activities will require some additional expense.
  • Students in Grades 6-9 will need to pay an additional book fee for literature books.

    ADMISSIONS POLICY

    Priority for Admission of a New Student:

    1. New Covenant Preschool graduates (Kindergarten class only)

    2. Siblings of currently enrolled students

    3. Children of NCCS Staff

    4. Members of New Covenant Presbyterian Church

    5.  Community

    Steps in the Admissions Process:

    1.      Parents have their child’s name added to the waiting list by completing and returning the registration packet.

    2.      When an opening becomes available, the school secretary calls the parents to set up a time for admissions testing and parent interview.

    ·        Both parents should plan to attend the parent interview

    ·        Testing fee and registration fee are due at this time

    ·        Parents should bring a copy of their child’s most recent report card.  Parents of home schooled children should bring a portfolio of their child’s recent schoolwork. 

    3.      Within two weeks after the testing/interview, the principal will mail the parents a letter detailing the results and explaining the admissions decision.

    Final Admission Criteria:

    1.      Admissions test results

    2.      Parent interview and willingness to sign the “Statement of Faith”

    3.      Previous school performance

    4.      Consideration is given to the proportion of boys and girls in the class when making a final admissions decision.

    Age Requirement:

    Under state law, students entering kindergarten must be five years old by September 1st of the year they enter kindergarten.      

    Learning Disabilities: 

    At this time, NCCS is not able to admit children diagnosed with severe learning disabilities or behavioral disorders.

    Probationary Admission:

    A child may be admitted on a probationary basis for academic or behavioral reasons.  The Administrator will evaluate the progress of a probationary student with the classroom teacher and the parents at the end of the first quarter.
